I was unable to make my Saturday donation this week so I went in on Monday to the main office. Got to drop off some more incredible edible eggs! I met with a volunteer there and was given a letter thanking me for the time I have spent so far this year. Cool experience.
I went to my usual spot on the porch of the food pantry where the clients wait before they opened and visited with them. I was able to strike up a couple of good conversations about healthy eating and the importance of a healthy lifestyle. When I went inside I learned that the pantry serves 40 to 50 families per week. I plan on bringing my eggs Monday and stopping the following Saturday to meet some people that may come later.
I went to Mt. Zion food pantry to donate food and talk with the people in need about some healthy eating habits. (the people change every week) I was able to interact with several people and discuss their thanksgiving plans.
Gave eggs from my farm to the Mt. Zion food pantry. I showed up early to bring them in and talk with the people waiting in line about the incredible complete protein called the egg! I was able to share with them the benefits of omega three in foods like my eggs. I taught them about the food I feed the chickens (flax seed).
I collected eggs and drove them to mt zion food pantry. I use the opportunity at my small farm to bring healthy natural foods to lower income people. While delivering the eggs I spend time with the people waiting outside in line before the food pantry opens to talk with them about health food choices. I like being able to do this as often as possible, because the people in line are always different and it gives me the opportunity to give something back to the community.
